Seriously now…..

Anyone who read my post yesterday, please disregard the fact that I told you I was starting my challenge today.  Seriously…a day before Thanksgiving.  I bet you all knew I was kidding…right? I hope! 

Actually, I will be starting my 12 week Body For Life challenge on Friday.   I can’t give up my pumpkin pie and whipped cream (x5) tomorrow and it only comes once per year. 

Well, I have been very busy at work today but wanted to let all of you who thought I was CRAZY know that I would be starting my challenge on Friday.  Check back for my challenge day 1 recap Friday night. 

I hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving and make sure to realize all that you are truly thankful for.

I’m In!

Boy has it been awhile since I posted….I need to get better at this.  Well, it is going to get better from here on out! 

My last post had to do with the goals I have set for myself and I am very excited to get into the mode of working towards those everyday.  Over the last few days I have been thinking about how unhappy I truly am with myself.  I hate myself and I don’t like how my mood is or how I am towards others.  I am ready for a change.  I decided to start doing Body For Life last March and have since then started and stopped about 20 times.  If your not sure what Body For Life is, you can check out this girls post: Janetha   She did excellent with it and I get so much motivation from her site.  Thanks girl!

All I want to do is be happy with myself and my life and be a healthy active person.  I realized looking back these last few days that I have never really completed a Body For Life challenge by the book.  I have given up every time.

Well……I am officially going to do one.  I am very excited!!  From here on out I will be following the workouts to a T and eating healthy, wholesome foods to fuel my body.  I am going to wake up happy every morning with a new way of thinking about myself.  I am going to do it this time.  There is NO quitting involved!

So stay tuned because I will be blogging my workouts, eats, and thoughts on the program for the next twelve weeks as I complete my physical and MENTAL transformation.

Run For Your Life

Hello fellow bloggers.  As you might have noticed I did not post last night.  I have been going through a few talks and motivational speeches with myself the last couple of days, as I seem to have lost it.  I am trying to figure out what I need to do to just be happy and healthy.  That is one thing that is actually very, very stressful for me.   I worry so much about losing weight that last month I got so stressed about it I actually gained 10lbs. Eww! I am not happy with my home life either….AND I BY NO MEANS MEAN ANYTHING ABOUT MY HUSBAND AND I IN THAT COMMENT….WE ARE VERY VERY HAPPY!  I am talking about the daily duties of the house.  I feel like I am such a bad wife in that aspect.  I wait around until there are 5 loads of laundry to do then I hate folding all of that and putting it away.  I hardly ever sweep our kitchen hardwood floor or the laundry room for that matter.  I want my bed to be made and our bedroom clean.  I just feel like my house is never clean.

I have decided to set a few goals for myself and am going to share them with you.  These are for weight loss, being healthy, and personal life goals.

Here they are:

Weight Loss

  • get up at 5am Mon-Fri to work out
  • do 3 weight lifting sessions per week
  • do 3 HIIT sessions per week
  • incorporate the couch to 10K running plan 3 days per week
  • drink 1 gallon of water per day
  • eat at least 5 small meals per day
  • eat veggie with at least 2 meals per day
  • have at least 2 servings of fruit per day
  • get 7 hours sleep per night

Personal Life

  • make my bed every morning
  • make sure all dirty clothes are in the laundry basket before bed at night
  • NO dishes in the sink at end of night
  • sweep kitchen every night and swiffer it 1 day per week
  • sweep laundry room every night and swiffer it 1 day per week
  • clean/dust one room per night (bedroom, bathroom, kitchen/L.Room,  Fam. Room)
  • When laundry is done, fold and put away same night
  • Work with my horse 3 days per week

 

Wow!  That sounds like a lot of stuff to keep up with.  In all honesty, it isn’t that much stuff if I would just do it.  I want to sit down at 8 o’clock each night and enjoy a cup of tea and relax.  The reason for keeping busy during the week with house chores is because when the weekends roll around, hubby and I like to ride 4 wheelers and be outside doing things and I don’t want o have to worry about house chores then.

I should also have a set of goals for work because I have been really slacking off there.  I get paid by the hour but also get bonuses on productivity.  I could make a lot more money if I just worked a little harder.  I have been really uninterested the last few months and not giving my all.  I am ok with the money I am making now but know I could make about 10K more if I just did a little extra.  That is a lot of money.

Yummy in My Tummy

Good evening to all of you. Today has been a great day on the home front and I accomplished all of my goals for the day. Yay for me 🙂

I started out with a killer upper body workout. I was a sweaty beast when I was finished. It felt so good after this weekend of bod choices.

5 min warmup on the elliptical

Back

  • dumbbell rows 3×15
  • pull ups 2×15
  • alternating each with ball crunch x 15 

Shoulders

  • shoulder press 3×15
  • upright rows 2×15
  • alternating each with decline crunch x15

Chest

  • chest press 3×15
  • incline dumbbell flys 2×15
  • alternating each with v-ups x10

Biceps

  • incline curls 3×15
  • concentration curls 2×15
  • alternating each with oblique crunch x15 each side

Triceps

  • tricep dips 3×15
  • tricep kickbacks 2×15
  • alternating each with leg lifts x15

It took about 50 min and I felt like a million bucks when i was finished.  I grabbed some of this on my way to make breakfast:

I cooked up some breakfast and quickly ate it before getting in the shower.

1 egg, 3 additional whites, 2 pc whole wheat toast and a lil’ butter. Yum!

I headed off to work for the day…brrr it was so cold outside.  I don’t really care for this Ohio weather even though it is November and 55 degrees.

My belly wanted to eat about 9:30 so I grabbed an apple and some naturally more peanut butter.

One of our contract shops brought us in a little marketing gift today…yum…at least that is what my co worker said as she was eating her sixth one. I actually didn’t even have one bite.

I worked a little more on applications at work and spreadsheets, and blog reading…oops. Then It was time for lunch.  I brought a grilled chicken breast and some edamame, but just was not feeling it. So I headed to subway and thoroughly enjoyed my turkey and ham sandwich.

After lunch I headed to WallyWorld to get my groceries for the week.  We get an hour paid lunch at work so I usually use mine to go get my groceries.  We have a fridge at work so I can even do this in the summer and bring my stuff inside to keep it cold. Perfect!

I got back to work and grabbed a yogurt out of the fridge before heading to my desk.  WHAT…..a suprise box on my desk!

Wait, I know what that is and it is one of my favorite foods in the whole world…..PUMPKIN BREAD!!!!

I have a friend that worked at Bob Evans and when my boss went there to eat lunch, she sent some back for me. What a doll. 

I shared with one of my co-workers so I wouldn’t eat both pieces myself.

They tasted horrible 😉

At 5 oclock on the dot I was out the door. I was so excited to try a new recipe tonight for  a breakfast casserole…yes I know it was dinner time but we like breakfast for dinner. I got home a realized I didn’t sit out the turkey bacon to thaw during the day :(.  Looks like I will be trying that new recipe tomorrow.  Instead I had a handful of these and a sip of that while I decided what to make. 

 Finally at about 6:30…dinner! I had 2 mini pancakes and 1 egg with 3 additional whites. It was very yummy and filling.

I unloaded the dishwasher, loaded it again, threw a load of laundry in, and folded the load that was done.  I call that pretty productive for the night.  I think I deserve to sit on my couch and read a few blogs, don’t you think?

I am really getting the hang of this whole blog thing and am really loving it. I look forward to talking to you all tomorrow.

Lack of planning….

Hello Blogland!  I hope everyone’s weekend is going great. I will warn you in advance that this post is not going to be too good on the food pics as this weekend has not been one of my best 😦   As the title mentions, lack of planning…..absoluatly screws me when it comes to nutrition and exercising.  I went to bed Friday night with no idea what I was doing the next morning.  I usually have my workouts written out and my food for the day jotted down (at least a slight food plan so I don’t panic when I can’t decide what to eat), but I had done none of that. Well, I have obviously realized that I have to plan everything out in advance in order to stay on track with workouts and eating.  You will see what I  mean throughout my post.

Saturday

Well, for starters I stayed up Friday night till midnight so I slept in till 8:30am.  I got up and plopped my butt down on the couch and started watching food network. Hello….you need to work out! Nope…I decided to eat a bowl of cereal.  I guess at least I picked something a little bit better for me then….coco puffs or something!

I hopped in the shower and headed off the go Christmas shopping.  I HATE shopping more than anything in the world. I had my list made out and only went in and got what I needed and got out. It was great other than everyone else in the worl thought they needed to get their shopping done early too! Oh well…only 3 more gifts to get and we are done.

I was hungry when I got home at 3:00pm…what happened to eating every three hours Melissa? I heated up some left over stuffed shells with a small bit of salad.  Yes, I know, it is a re-used picture.  I see a lot of that in the blog world so i figured it wouldn’t hurt if I did it too.  Minus the garlic bread this time though 🙂

I woke up late again with no plan. I ate no breakfast this morning and had lunch at about 12:00pm. It involved this:PICT0292

Well, I guess at least half of that pic was on the right track. What am I doing to myself?  To get back on track I am sitting down and writing out my workouts for the week and my meals. Back on track tomorrow.

Before I offend anyone for having my dog’s on chains, let me explain….when you are pouring concrete in your garage, you cannot have dogs running in and out of there. They are all 3 outside dogs and probably get more attention than some inside dogs do.  They are always running loose unless they are tied up for certain circumstances, such as this one.  We let the older dog in at night so he can sleep by the fire but the other two love being outside.  In the winter they dig holes in the snow and sleep there.  They love the snow.  So, for you who think I am being cruel to my animals for leaving them outside, mind your own business! Like I said earlier, I know for a fact, seeing it first hand, that our outside dogs are better taken care of then some people’s inside dogs!

This is not working!

I have been so excited all day to get all of my food pics and get them on here, but I must not be so computer smart.  I took pics of all of my eats today and have lost half of them just trying to load them onto my computer.  I think I am finally getting the hang of what I need to do.  Oh well…hopefully tomorrow will be better.  Oh, I forgot my other problem. My camera will not take any clear pictures.  They are all blurry and I don’t know what I am doing wrong. Grrrr! How frustrating!  Any way, on with life…. How was your day?  I hope everyone had a good one!

After a killer HIIT, I jumped in the shower and got dressed for work.  I made some breakfast, which consisted of 1 egg, 2 additional whites, and a piece of whole wheat toast.  Yum! I would show you a picture, but if you remember our earlier conversation, I was saying how that wasn’t working out the greatest for some pictures 😦  Seriously….you all know what eggs and toast look like!

I got to work at 9:00 and stared working on the computer. About 10:00 my belly told me I was hungry. So I wondered into my break room and had this:

I could eat this for every meal of the day! I got back to work for a little while, but lets be honest…its Friday and I really didn’t want to do anything.  Lunch time rolled around and involved some chicken breast, green beans, and left over scalloped potatoes.  < try to get a mental image cuz you aren’t going to see what this looks like either 😦 >

The rest of the afternoon went so slow. I kept watching the clock hoping it would go faster than it was. At 3:00 my co-worker came into work.  It was her birthday so she took part of the day off.  Last night I made her some cookies and might have had one. They were so good……I mean…..everyone else said they tasted good 😉

Oh Finally it was 5:00. Time to get out of here! I came home and was planning to make chicken stuffed shells (Thanks Danica) and hopped right to it.  They were so good.

Hello world!

Hello everyone! My name is Melissa and I have been lurking around the blog world  for a while now and am so excited to finally have my own!!  I have followed Janetha and Danica for so long  and really think having a blog will help keep me accountable.

 

I will start out by telling you a little about myself and my plan for this blog. I already told you my first name and my last name is White, hence the title. I am 23 years old and have been happily married for three years.  I work for State Farm Insurance as a specialist and absolutely love my job…most of the time I guess.  I live in Ohio on part of my husband’s family farm where we have 3 dogs, 2 cats, a horse, and a goat. My husband and I ride dirt bikes and 4 wheelers all year long and I also love working with horses.  Ok, enough about me….unless you want to know more but then just leave me a comment and I’ll tell you 🙂   My reason for starting a blog is for the accountability factor it brings.  I am very interested in health and fitness and living my life to the fullest.   Over the last few years I have gained a little bit of weight (30lbs to be exact 😦  ) and have stressed about it for so long.  I have just recently realized that it is more important to just be healthy and that is what I need to worry about.  When I do that, I know the weight will come off just fine.  I followed the Body For Life program for a couple months and really enjoy it.  I have now tweaked it a little so I don’t stress out so much about food, but still follow the workouts as planned.

 

My goals are to document through photo all of my eats and also my workouts. Tomorrow will be the first day of food pics and I am very excited to get started. I am going to leave you all for the night and hope you enjoy reading about me as much as I do you!
